Ian Harding

Ian Harding is the SPA Fellow for Software Engineering, where he leads the design and application of advanced software architectures that support data analytics, artificial intelligence, and decision-support capabilities. With extensive experience in cloud computing, distributed systems, and enterprise software development, Mr. Harding translates complex technical requirements into scalable, mission-ready solutions.

At SPA, Mr. Harding architects and guides the development of modern software platforms that enable analysts and decision-makers to access, process, and interpret complex data. He works closely with software engineers and data scientists to design secure, scalable systems, including enterprise artificial intelligence applications and advanced data discovery tools that improve how organizations leverage information to inform critical decisions.

Prior to joining SPA, Mr. Harding served as a Senior Cloud Application Engineer at Effectual Inc., where he designed and implemented mission-critical cloud applications using modern AWS architectures. His work focused on improving data flows and operational processes through serverless infrastructure, automated deployment pipelines, and scalable analytics environments.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Harding held technical leadership roles at Veracity Forecasting and Analysis, later acquired by SPA. There, he led engineering teams developing analytical software systems used to model and analyze complex operational and business scenarios. His experience also includes managing enterprise software teams responsible for mission-critical applications and integrated systems across multiple industries.

Mr. Harding holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Utah.
