Retired Rear Admiral David Duryea joined Systems Planning & Analysis in 2018 after a 31-year career in the US Navy. He currently leads SPA’s Sea, Land, Air Division, overseeing US Navy, US Marine Corps, US Air Force and US Army business areas as well as SPA Australia. In this role he oversees SPA’s work in areas ranging from Operations Research, Data Science, Program Support, Strategic Communications, Strategy, and Cost Estimating.

After retiring from his naval career, David Duryea served as Vice President for Finance and Management/CFO at the State University of New York at Cortland.

Dave Duryea served in the US Navy as a Submarine Line Officer and Acquisition Professional. As a flag officer, he served as the Deputy Commander of Undersea Warfare at the Naval Sea Systems Command and Commander, Naval Undersea Warfare Center/Director, Undersea Technology (SEA 073).

Dave Duryea graduated from the University of Rochester, earning a bachelor of science degree in Geomechanics and holds a master’s degree from George Washington University.

Mr. Duryea is DAWIA Level 3 Certified in Program Management.
